Presentation

Since 2020, twenty-one Walloon parks and gardens have been awarded the ‘Remarkable’ label by the ‘Parcs et jardins de Wallonie’ association. Whether they are castle parks or listed estates, abbey gardens or private gardens, they are all open to the public and offer cultural, aesthetic, historical or botanical interest. Among them are the Rochefort-Malagne Archaeological Park and its gardens and vegetable plots inspired by antiquity; the poetic charm of the Folon Foundation, nestled within the Solvay regional estate; the Fruiticum at La Ramée Abbey; the Rose Garden at Le Roeulx, created by Benoit Friart in 1963, which hosts the International New Rose Competition every year; the Modave Castle Park and its French-style gardens; and the Annevoie Water Gardens, where, for 250 years, nature has been powering unique water features without the use of machinery…
