conservation and research
Preserving, restoring and showcasing monuments and collections is one of the fundamental missions of the Centre des Monuments Nationaux.
Our mission
From the restoration of monuments to the study of collections, and from the preservation of historic gardens to the development of scientific programmes, the CMN draws on a wide range of expertise to better understand, protect and promote the heritage entrusted to it.
As such, the CMN carries out works, refurbishment, maintenance and restoration projects that combine knowledge of heritage, the preservation of cultural assets, a high standard of visitor experience, contemporary uses and the transmission of this heritage to future generations.
