The Villa Cavrois, a genuine modern château, is located in Croix in the Lille metropolitan area, and was the fruit of a meeting between a couple, Paul and Lucie Cavrois, and the talented architect Robert Mallet-Stevens. Built between 1929 and 1932, Mallet-Stevens designed every last detail: the furniture, decoration and garden, using all the latest technologies available in the first half of the 20th century.

Since 2005, the Sensitinéraires collection has offered blind and visually impaired people a unique way to discover the national monuments using tactile, auditory materials. Books of art in their own right, these works aim to represent, for people who cannot appreciate them by sight, the volume, architectural form and decoration of the buildings in the exact proportions and aesthetic dimensions.

To make the patterns appear in relief on the paper, specialist artists use a precise, artisanal embossing technique. The sheets are stamped one after the other, after making stucco counterparts. Texts recorded on audio CD in DAISY format, a genuine revolution in speaking books, accompany the tactile pictures.
Five monuments: the Sainte-Chapelle, the Panthéon, the Cité de Carcassonne, the Abbaye de Cluny, and the Château d'Angers and its famous Apocalypse Tapestry, have already been featured.
