Begun in 1163 the construction of the cathedral of Paris took place over two centuries. Notre Dame has long been one of the largest religious buildings in the West and still one of the most emblematic monuments of Paris. It welcomes more than 12 million visitors each year.
On April 15, 2019, a terrible fire destroyed the entire roof of the nave, choir and transept, as well as the spire of the cathedral. The damage is considerable. Only the towers and the structure seem to be spared.
The President of the Republic launches a subscription to restore the cathedral by allowing all those wish to participate in repair work.
