Bêtes Off
After colonising various sites throughout France as part of the Monuments and Animals national event, certain
animals will come to hibernate in Paris. They will populate a mysterious forest created within the Conciergerie.
When they venture
into this wild space, the visiting public will experience some strange encounters. As they pass along the themed paths – theAllée des chimères, the Route
du lac and the Chemin du bout du monde –, they will come across arresting artworks: the creatures brought together here - fantasy objects, mirrors which
reflect our own trials and tribulations and alarming testaments to the major environmental challenges we face - illustrate the diverse roles which animals play in the imaginative space of our contemporary artists.
Curator: Claude d’Anthenaise, Director of the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature (Museum of Hunting and Nature), assisted by Raphaël Abrille, Conservation Officer
of the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature.
