Creating facilities
The CMN undertakes interior and exterior works to improve facilities for the visiting public. These works have to strike a balance between preserving the heritage of monuments and making them accessible to visitors.
They can entail a variety of activities:
- creating a reception area / ticket office / shop
- ensuring the site is accessible to everyone, including the disabled
- creating a visitors’ tour circuit
- designing associated cultural spaces: learning workshops, auditoriums, educational spaces, projection rooms, scenography
- fitting out of restaurants / tea rooms
- provision of specific areas of the property: catering premises, reception rooms, etc.
These facilities are generally permanent, but may also be temporary (for events, exhibitions, etc.)
