The CMN - the contracting authority for all works undertaken on national monuments
The mission of the CMN is to develop and open national monuments to the public and also, as of 2007, to restore and conserve them for the benefit of future generations.
Prior to this date, conservation work was the responsibility of the decentralised services of the Ministry of Culture and Communication, with the CMN focusing on creating facilities to welcome visitors.
The CMN now has the full means at its disposal to offer the public a consistent schedule of high-quality visitor experiences, with a combined emphasis on good visitor facilities and the conservation, development and protection of national monuments.
All works are planned and overseen by a single department - CMN’s contracting authority department, created on 1 June 2009.
